Jack is in that best-ever stage when he can roll and move around enough that when he wakes up he isn’t immediately upset about it. He can entertain himself in his bed with his own small talk and wiggling from here to there, and I love the little sounds that come over the monitor that let me know he’s awake without tears.
When I go into the room and he’s still preoccupied on his stomach, it’s the best chain of events.
First he hears me coming and freezes to listen.
Then he slowly starts to rotate to check out who’s come, as if turning too quickly might make me vanish.
So pleased to see you.
Five babies later, these moments never get old.
