Peach Berry Smoothies {SunRype 900 mL Juice Giveaway!}

October 25, 2014 by Anna 21 Comments

Make sure you get all the way to the bottom to enter the giveaway for a whole buncha delicious juice!

There are few things that get my kids as excited as a good smoothie.  On the rare occasion we go through a drive-thru, no one asks for fries or ice cream, they’re always wondering if the place has smoothies.  They can down a smoothie so fast I wonder if they even have brains to freeze. Smoothies also happen to be one of my favourite things, so I’m happy to make all kinds of them at home, as long as there’s no green involved.  Fruit smoothies are the only kind I know.

Peach-berry-smoothieWhen making fruit smoothies, there are three things that make all the difference: frozen fruit instead of ice cubes, vanilla yogurt, and a shot of good juice.

Juice, like smoothies, should be as much real fruit as you can realistically fit in a cup, and SunRype knows this. I have been buying their juice for years (as many years as I’ve been buying juice), and they just came out with some great new flavours and sleek and pretty new 900 mL packaging, still with all the same goodness: real fruit, no added sugar, and no artificial colours or preservatives.

So many juices these days are packed with things so far removed from real fruit it doesn’t even make sense.  This juice tastes just like it should: like the fruit it comes from. My family loves juice (Carl can drink an entire carton without blinking an eye), so I want to make sure that any fruit juice we have really is made of real fruit.  If there are bonus veggies we can’t taste, all the better!  SunRype’s raspberry orange Fruit Plus Veggies and Fibre is our favourite and I love knowing that a single glass includes 2 grams of fiber and 2 servings of fruits and veggies! (And it’s not green and doesn’t taste like tomatoes!)

As kids, SunRype apple juice was our go-to juice, always in the fridge and always part of my mom’s remedy for anything that landed us home on the couch.  In the summer, she bought smaller boxes and we took it camping and to the beach.  To this day, she has this juice in her fridge at all times.

That same juice has been a staple in my house since we got married, and I love that it’s made in Canada’s gorgeous Okanagan valley, known for its incredible orchards and high quality fruit, annnnnd right near my grandparents’ house! The slim new packaging is perfect for sliding into my fridge door, and the wide pour spout makes pouring easy even for my kids. Being able to constantly change up the flavours keeps my kids excited, with options like Mango, Pineapple, and Ambrosia Apple.  The FruitActiv, Fruit Plus Veggies and Frullo lines all boast fantastic flavours and different health benefits.

The apple-orange-peach juice couldn’t be more perfect in this fresh and fruity smoothie – who ever said apples and oranges don’t go together was just plain wrong.  Fall and the onset of pumpkin everything may be upon us, but smoothies are a year-round feature in our house, and this flavour combination is my favourite.

peach berry viewThe SunRype juice adds the perfect amount of tartness to bring out all the sweetness of the fruit, and just enough liquid to make my old blender willing to whiz up all that delicious fruit, fresh or frozen. SunRype is literally the only juice I buy, which is why I’m talking about it and also why I’m so excited to be able to give away a case of this juice to one of you lovely readers, because who doesn’t love fresh juice delivered to their door?! Details to enter are at the end of the post, and its super simple!

We always have apple juice and orange juice in the house, especially in the winter to keep up on vitamin C. When there is a good sale, I pick up some of the fun fruit combos or the fruit/veggie ones.

I’m not yet familiar with SunRype but will be looking for it. I like the sound of raspberry orange Fruit Plus Veggies and Fibre, yet wouldn’t it be fun to have a case with a mix of flavors!

Ellie would live off of SunRype Apple Juice alone, if that was possible and/or permitable. As a matter of fact, when we were driving through Kelowna a few months ago she saw the SunRype factory and started yelling “apple juice store, apple juice store!!”. Which was great, because I’ve always wanted to go, but never knew exactly where it was – so she spotted it for me :)

We love smoothies at our house! This sounds absolutely delicious! I haven’t been making as many lately, now that the weather is a little cooler, but they are still one of my favorites!

Mmm…I’m an orange juice fanatic, so I’d have to say their straight up orange. BUT I’ve also tried the fruits and fibres line, and must say they are delish! :)

That smoothie looks scrumptious! I found it interesting that you note a key ingredient in a good smoothie is a bit of juice – I’ve never put juice in a smoothie before. Perhaps it’s time to give that a try. I like the sound of the Nectarine-Orange-Pineapple drink. :)

reading your blog post reminds me of my house. :)
I didn’t grow up on subtype all the time. But the only Apple juice we ever drank was subtype!
Now all we drink in our house is 100% real fruit juice! I love subtype for that.
Favourite flavour in our home is strawberry banana
    Most staple is Apple
