I’m no athlete, and have very little semblance of coordination or team camaraderie. My husband showed me these commercials since they made him think of me…should I be offended?

Haha! Well, obviously my lack of coordination and competitive spirit makes me a socially inept nimnod. What a silly suggestion! I for one have never hit one out of the park, and yet I say all the time that someone has done so. I like Corien’s thought that play skills are life skills. :)

HA HA!!!! I have never seen these (yup… we don’t have a tv!!!)…….. Although I must say that just because you don’t play sports doesn’t mean that you would react the way these did!!! I am totally sure that you would catch the stick it notes!!! HEHE!!!

Haha, sadly I have reacted just like this which is what made Carl think of it…he threw me a dishcloth and I flailed my arms around and totally missed from about 3 feet away :) I also have pictures of myself throwing balls on Sports Days exactly the way that guy tossed the life preserver! However, I DO at least know my sport terminology enough to fake it pretty good, not like the dunk-slam guy!

Haha! Funny…but I do think you can pick up those skills in other ways. Like watching T.V. and watching others exercise. Although the leg cramp one was disturbing…sports wouldn’t help that. That was just stupid. Interestingly enough in our household, the one who played a lot of sports as a kid hardly has any physical activity anymore. And the person who played zero sports is much more active. We just learned some soccer (cheap sport) and swimming (so no one would drown) and hiked and biked and cross country skied all the time. So I’m not convinced at all that playing sports as a child teaches you life skills any better then learning to be physically active or just playing.

Whenever these come on, Joel turns and looks at me SIGNIFICANTLY. I’m always all, What. I already said we can put our kids in sports, it’s too late for me, go git me a cookie.
