I don’t even know where to start. Having my parents come to visit never gets old, and I’m definitely at least as excited as the kids anticipating their arrival. We only get to see them a couple times a year, and those times always go too quickly, but it’s always so, so good.
I love how they just fully engage, making time for every family and every kid, and helping me with all the projects I’ve been noting down waiting for their next arrival :)
For example, my mom and I declared my favourite vintage couch a lost cause as the top and bottom had separated and stuffing was coming out. My dad tsk-tsked at us and sent us to the store for strong thread and a big needle. Combined with a pair of needle nosed pliers, he had it good-as-new in no time, even with “helpers”.
My mom makes signs for a living, so I saved my big sign project for her arrival. Dad cut and assembled the wood, my sister did the design, my mom painstakingly measured it all…I painted where I was told and am beyond thrilled with the sign “I” made ;)
And of course I let them have time for baby snuggles…
And big kid snuggles…
And games and stories galore :)
We are so thankful for incredible grandparents on both sides of the family, and the health and energy they have right now to keep up with all these crazy littles.
