This week we got spoiled with buns, baking, fresh flowers, and dinner as people continue to support us so generously as we settle into life with 5 littles. I still feel slightly in the fog of confused tiredness that comes with so little sleep, but am also so enjoying this stage of little people everywhere.
Valentine’s Day was a perfect opportunity to celebrate all these people I love with my once-a-year purchase of lollipops and deliberate choice not to think about all that pointless sugar sitting against their cute little teeth. Carl also spoiled his girls with flowers, and Theo declared it “The best day I have EVER SEEN.” (We’ve heard this excited proclamation in the past few months at Christmas present opening, his birthday, his brother’s birthday, a day visiting Fort Langley, etc., but it never stops making us feel like the day was a rousing success :))
We also got to celebrate the birthday of an amazing husband and father, who only ever wants socks but won’t say no to some nice new squash balls either.
The snow and ice are finally melted off our trampoline and it seems to have survived, much to this guy’s delight.
Nothing makes him happier than gearing up and getting outside!
I saw a quote the other day that I think is such a beautiful expression of what I feel looking back on weeks like this, so thankful for health, family, and the everyday routine and chaos that is our life is right now:
“Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.” (Mary Jean Irion)
Praying for another “normal” week and the ability to see it for the treasure it is, and wishing the same for all of you.
