While I totally agree that Mother’s and Father’s Day are fabricated holidays which convince you to spend money, I am all for spending money on other people if it helps them realise how treasured they are. I was (am) blessed with an amazing Dad, and I’m so thankful my kids get to have the same experience.
This guy loves on his kids with endless energy and enthusiasm, and is always willing to pitch in with dinnertime, bathtime, bedtime, or any other time. Watching their eyes as they get to give him presents is one of my favourite things, each of their personalities written all over their transparent little faces. Each one gets attention, even if the littlest is determined to bash open the tennis balls he just gifted on his dad’s fabulously beefy arm.
Carl is a natural at crowd control, something I am very much not, and I’m so thankful for his leadership, care and efforts to schedule his work life so he can be around as much as possible for me and the kids, also as we hope to welcome a fifth little face in January! I’m thankful every day that he’s the one I get to do life with. Happy Father’s Day to this handsome, happy father of five :)
