May always sneaks up on us, and then flies by at lightning speed – I know summer holidays are going to be here before we know it! In regards to that, please share your tips on camping with a fearless almost-two-year-old. Constant life jacket and helmet situation?
In the meantime, in the hours after school and on the weekends, things have been really good. Beautiful weather, one less job on my plate, more sleep at night, swimming lessons, Carl around lots as he works on research…I could get used to this.
We’re also determined to squeeze in plenty of Aunty Brenda time before she leaves us, and the kids are always thrilled to have a sleepover guest to jump on bright and early.
Gemma is in the corner playing “teenager”, in case you were wondering :)
We also celebrate a birthday this week, and if you run out of your own dessert, Grandma’s plate is always a good bet for seconds.
And a garage sale find of a karaoke machine? Serendipity.
We won’t talk about the less-serendipitous find of a bike for yours truly, and the responsibility to learn to ride that comes with it :P On the bright side, there was also chocolate, sweet handmade gifts, and plenty of snuggles.
Oh, and this note sneakily written on my patio door in window markers.
I’m seriously not likely to ever clean this door again.
Kim says
So sweet :) Gemma is getting so grown up looking…even without the glasses!
Alisa says
Sweet note on the door! Melissa told me about it – she thought Gemma was so sweet. I too find May (and April and June) to just fly by!
Anna says
I actually asked Gemma if Melissa had helped her write it :) Sometimes I forget how grown up and thoughtful she is all on her own ;)
Carla says
Gemma the teen huh!
The note is precious indeed!
Erin says
You *are* kind, sweet, beautiful, and even more! I wouldn’t erase that note ever. :)
Andrea says
LOL, oh Gemma. Does she have glasses or is she just being a goof?
You look beautiful in that picture with Gemma and Kristopher!!
And what a sweet, sweet note on the door. I would definitely not wash that for a very long time, possibly forever.
Love you!
Anna says
Haha, those are my old glasses – that’s why she has to wear them down her nose since I don’t want her to wreck her eyes :)
