My kids are inordinately excited about the idea of Summer Reading Club at the library. They normally read tons, but they are adamant that I set a timer for 15 minutes so they know for sure they’re doing the required time. I think this may actually decrease the amount they read this summer.
Kristopher is reading up a storm these days and always insists on reading me a story instead of vice versa. He always goes far beyond the required 15 minutes.
Even Theo manages to sit in one place for 15 minutes to be in on the action, and that’s after the 15 minutes he spends accumulating a large and wobbling stack of books to speed read. I think we may institute fall reading club too.
And I think it may be time for a bit more bookshelf space.

We always do the Library Summer Reading Program. Keeps the kids reading and we’ve won many prizes over the years too as an added bonus :-) Be sure to do the adult one as well… good prizes there too.
