I used to think I’d give up on taking everyday pictures by the time the third child came along. But this one provides plenty of reminders to pull out the camera and his love of saying “cheeeese!” makes it even easier. With the first two we never worry when they’re quiet, since it usually just means they’re having a fantastic time and getting along well.
When Theo is quiet, I go looking the second I notice, asking whatever family member I encounter along the way, “Where is the third one?”
Oh good, working hard formatting Mom’s research.
Where IS the third one? Aaah, yes, should’ve known that time.
One more time, with feeling.
Ready for anything.
But he never sees the magic wet blanket trick coming when I need him to stay still and safe for a few minutes. I never want to forget how seriously this child takes a good damp towel/blanket/cloth. The reaction is instant: he puts his two middle fingers in the mouth, hits the floor, and gives a cheery “nigh-night”!
Aaaand he’s off.
I’ll be looking for you shortly, son.

Oh, Anna, it’s the fourth child that gets into things! The third one only slightly prepares you for the fourth’s bravery, testing and ‘getting-into-everything-ness’! But so much fun and giggles they bring!

So cute! And just think, soon you’ll be trying to keep track of him while dealing with a newborn! Oh, the joys of parenting more than one child…

What a kid…such a sweetie but also such a ‘going concern’, as my mother would say. :)
