It’s not too often I feel comfortable talking up a product here. I know you come here for recipes, maybe for my silly little stories, but not to be sold things. So no, I won’t review shelf-safe milk(!?) or an extra special variety of raisins, thank you very much.
But Minted is a site I think is totally worth both of our time. I had a full shopping cart before I even received an email from the company offering to work with me. So I probably would have told you about it anyway :) AND they’re going to give one of YOU a $25 shopping spree! (Ok, maybe $25 doesn’t quite qualify as a “spree” per se, but it’s more than enough to get a pretty personalized journal or some super cute table decor for your next birthday party!) Details for how to enter the giveaway are at the end of this post :)
So, what is Minted?
Minted is a site based on great designs and great paper, a one-stop shop that curates the best designs from artists who submit their work, focusing on original, creative, high-quality paper goods.
Swoooooooon.
I loooove me some good paper, and few things get me as excited as back-to-school shopping for new notebooks. I am a chronic, obsessive list maker, meal planner, craft planner, chore planner, student, and documenter. I have scraps of paper, notepads, sticky notes, and notebooks of every size, shape, and colour lying literally all over my house. It makes me feel much more organized than I actually am.
Minted does everything to support a paper fetish, offering quality paper products ranging from gorgeous photo Christmas cards to art prints and calendars! Everything is totally customizable, along with a bunch of really beautiful ready-to-go options for those of us who just love enjoying other people’s creativity.
I’ve already picked my favourite Christmas card – maybe I’ll be on the ball this year and not have to harass my long-suffering sister in the first week of December. Isn’t this perfect? I might even keep the puppy, he looks so cute on there.
The first thing to make its way into my cart was this personalizeable notebook to chronicle the funny things my kids say – how often do you think, “I’ll definitely remember that”, even while you know you really won’t? I’m usually lucky if I can remember to tell Carl by the time he gets home.
This notebook will be finding a home in my kitchen junk drawer where I can grab it at a moment’s notice to jot down the whimsical, thoughtful, quirky, and downright hilarious things my kids say everyday. For example, Gemma informed me at dinner last week in all seriousness that she “won’t be sad if she dies as a kid because then she can go to heaven and shake her bum when there’s a party because someone is found.” The Bible parable of a man searching for his lost sheep (Luke 15:1-7) made a definite impact :)
SO, do you want some paper products of your very own? Of course you do!
To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post telling me your favourite way to enjoy paper and voila, you’re in the running! If you want to earn one bonus entry, jump over and like Hidden Ponies on Facebook, and leave a second comment here letting me know you did – if you’ve already done this, THANK YOU! Mention it in your comment and you’re in for 2 entries :)
Can’t wait to see who wins!! (Deadline for entry is Sunday, August 18th by 11:59 pm. I’ll announce the winner here next week as well as email the winner, so make sure you leave a valid email address, it’s not shown publicly! The winner will receive a $25 online credit to use on any product available at Minted.com)

I use paper to write out recipes I find on the internet!!! Sometimes I am just too lazy to haul out the printer, so I have a notebook I write my recipes in. It keeps them together and I pay attention to cooking instructions more this way! :o)

I always have a list on the go. Since my memory fails me too often, i write it down, post its notes on the cabinets and lists in my wallet (right away) because forgetting it at home isn’t very helpful!!

I definitely waste too much paper on making chore lists, grocery lists, and writing down directions to places so I don’t get lost. Boring, I know. :) And I like you on Facebook!
Joanne says
First of all I love your site. Secondly, I believe in the old art of pen to paper letter writing. I don’t think anything shows more caring than a hand written letter on pretty paper in a pretty envelope. I know, I know, postage prices you say, but it is worth it when a friend tells you how great it felt to get a letter instead of an e-mail. Call me old-fashioned!

I also follow you on FB.

I use pretty paper to use as decorative lids for my canning jars. It makes them look so much better and dressed up!

I’m a chronic list maker as well. Plus I like to write down a Bible verse every day and post it in my office. Thanks!
